Shock and horror on the MPLR!
There was chaos, shock and horror among the workers at Moreton Quarry today when this notice was discovered at the quarry entrance.
Is Moreton Pit to be sold? What will happen to the railway? Is this the end of the MPLR?
The men soon found Mr A Scrooge the accountant of the MPLR, and questioned him as to what is going on!
Meanwhile Bill Goodie, reserve manager, was out in his rounds when he came upon this notice.
So is the MPLR up for sale? Will Bill Goodie no longer have a job? Well, no but the Board of Directors have decided that in these times of austerity the old pit has to go and be sold off! As to the railway……. Watch this space!
